The family business Henke Sass Wolf GmbH acquires Zünd Präzisionsoptik AG

Henke Sass Wolf GmbH ("HSW") acquires Zünd Präzisionsoptik AG and its subsidiary Optivac AG ("Zünd Präzisionsoptik AG"), the leading manufacturer of optical components in the micro optics sector. The Zünd Group is a leading global competence center for sophisticated plano optics and coatings of the highest quality. Customers from all over the world and from a wide range of industries are served from the modern production site in Switzerland.

In January 2020, the multi-family office Verium took over a majority stake in the Zünd Group as part of a succession solution. In its more than 50-year history, the Zünd Group has successfully established itself as the market leader for compact and micro prisms and has earned a first-class reputation, particularly in the medical technology sector.

The two companies have already been working together successfully for decades, with Zünd Group acting as a supplier to HSW and its subsidiaries. HSW's acquisition of Zünd Group creates a strong partnership - the combined expertise and resources will enable the company to continue to differentiate itself through top quality, a strong customer focus and technological expertise. The management as well as the more than 60 employees of the Zünd Group will all remain on board. This continuity ensures a smooth transition as well as the preservation and further expansion of the proven unique selling points and many years of experience.
